Ed Gutentag · Cinematographer + Drone Artist.

A 30-year filmmaker whose old site was burying the work. We rebuilt it from scratch as a static, editorial-quality site that finally matches the person.

Founding client · 2026 Aerial of Shell Island and Panama City Beach pass From WordPress to cinematic.

"Most content is forgettable because most people are terrified to say something real." — Ed Gutentag

The brief

Ed has spent 30+ years behind the camera. He's directed for a sitting U.S. President, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and a long list of Emerald Coast brokerages and brands. By 2026, his portfolio spanned cinematography, drone work, real estate visuals, and Matterport tours — but his old WordPress site loaded in 4.5 seconds, missed every SEO basic, and looked nothing like the work it was trying to sell.

He didn't need more features. He needed a site that opened with the work, sounded like him, and didn't make potential clients wait.

What we did

Rebuilt the site from scratch as static HTML on Cloudflare Pages. No CMS, no plugin layer, no monthly licence stack. Cinematic full-bleed hero pulling from Ed's own drone footage. First-person voice throughout — no "industry-leading" filler. A featured Dalai Lama PSA embed near the top, because that's the kind of credential most sites would bury.

The work portfolio is divided by what Ed actually sells: cinematography, drone, real estate, Matterport. Each section gets room to breathe. The contact page is short and human, not a form farm.

What changed

The stack

Static HTML, custom CSS, no frameworks. Hosted on Cloudflare Pages with auto-deploy from the design folder. Drone stills processed and served at the right size for the device asking — no CDN bill, no image-optimisation plugin, no excuses. Matterport tours and Vimeo embeds load only when needed.

Engagement: Starter build + Always On care plan. Ed is grandfathered into founding-client care pricing in perpetuity. We maintain the site monthly — updates, SEO, content edits, performance — so he can focus on what's behind the camera.
